Zen has derived from Buddha. Nearly ten centuries after Buddha, it was brought from India to China by an Indian genius Bodhid Harma. To reveal the meaning of Zen is out of power. Every human should practice it.
We state the opinions of geniuses from Zen Literature:
Prof. Teitaro Suzuki:
‘Zen means to rescue, saving. To free himself from every limit and hesitation between self-consciousness and unconsciousness. ‘
Prof. Alan Watts:
‘Zen is neither religion nor philosophy. Neither science nor psychology. Zen is a style and way for rescue and saving. However Zen could not be explained, it should be obtained only through practice. Word, dictionary, explanation, and citation cannot be relevance of this practice.’
‘Zen is the significance of human and life. Zen is a long practice. Every individual should feel it himself’
Other views about Zen:
Zen means emigration. It means emigration from the pole of suffering to the pole of leisure.
Zen is the return of the person to himself. Dictionaries cannot serve as a means of transport. The person should jump to the horse of experience in order to come over the wide way of Zen.
Zen is a place, unconscious for humans, and a border of influence of human’s mind.
To think about the meaning of Zen is to enter into the ocean of mind, to breathe correctly, and have an analogous physical activity.
Zen is the endeavor to live, to get leisure and cheerful thoughts.
Zen is the return of a person to the best psychological condition. We accept, that it is the physiology of the central neurological system. On the basis of this theory, the human, by addressing the requirement of Zen, tries to return to the best condition of his physiological condition.
Zen means recognition, intuition, and sensibility. This recognition means, that the human should not identify others, but his own real nature. Because, when he accepts any other thing, then he follows it. If we state the meaning of a thing, this meaning will be far from reality. The mental impressions of the listener will suppose such a thing, which will differ from reality.
Then, which way is the manner of the revelation of truth? When a person is in restriction, he is not himself in truth. He looks like pure water in this condition that carries away everything through continuity. And when reaches the end of the way, the litter and dust color does not let the water come to light factually. The pure water is not dust-color in this condition, but this condition does not leak it
We must take into regard our personality when we intend to pass any way. Thus, the truth is the abstract meaning of a certain reality. One should be abstract to recognize reality. In order to realize the reality and your personality, gather all your thoughts to one point. In this way, find your personal discipline in the general discipline. Convene all the power that you call “I” into one point and do not think about anything else. In this condition, keep this point constant in your soul. This is the address of your body.
That point in your heart is considered a knot of life. If you concentrate on that point and this focus is stable then this is the start of the way as yet.
In order to learn any subject, one needs a teacher. To recognize personality and to follow this way, you should find such a teacher, who would be your guide and instructor of the real way. By stating that this is Muslim and the other is Christian, one cannot be the follower of Zen. Because Zen has no formal magazine or a book to claim for – this is the real end of life. Zen cannot demand his follower to obey him. Zen always looks for the truth. And the truth is not gained through a deal. The truth appears through creation. This creation passes through the creations of humans. As a result, Zen does not say anything besides real self-recognition. If you are true, you will not be untrue to others. This is that concept which sounds like this: Be true to people, whom you face, not to be untrue to yourself.
